Yes we can!

The introduction of the 'no fault' divorce and the ability to seek a divorce on a joint basis has opened the doorway to innovative new ways of finalising a couple's financial life together.  One of those new ways is to have just one lawyer to deal with the process for both of you and what underpins this process is 'joint best interests' rather than the usual best position for one client.

The current family law system can unfortunately push separating couples further apart right at the start of the process and positions can become entrenched...and expensive. Our Amicability service has been designed to provide a way for separating couples who are in agreement about how they wish to finalise their affairs together, do so in a non-confrontational process.

Amicability still involves full and frank financial disclosure and all your cards must be on the table. It is in this way that we assist you to narrow any areas of difference and dispute and reach a fair outcome.  During the process we can also work with other professionals, such as valuers, pension experts, accountants and financial advisers, as necessary.

Clearly, this process will not be appropriate in every situation and we do talk to each of you individualy in the first instance to determine your suitability for this service.

We can offer a fixed fee per couple for this service which would be discussed once we have full details of your circumstances but typically we would expect a fairly straightforward matter with just one property to cost around £4,000.00 plus VAT, per couple.

Its also really important that you have an up to date Will to reflect your new circumstances.  Our Wills start from £200.00 plus VAT. 

We offer a free short telephone advice, or a longer advice and next steps appointment at £200.00 plus VAT. This can be held by telephone, by Zoom or Teams meeting, whichever you prefer.

Outside of our fixed fee advice our usual hourly rates start from £275.00 - 375.00 plus VAT and we charge in units of 1/10th of an hour (so 27.50 plus VAT per 6 minute unit, email or short phone call)

We do not offer Legal Aid.
